5th October: President's Cup
The fine weather ensured a great end to the golf croquet season for Newport Croquet club when a Singles Tournament took place .  The format involved each participant playing eight half-hour games to enable as many club members as possible to play each other.   Bernard Yallop and Clive Cassidy had the same number of points and so came equal second and the winner was the club president John Gordon.

29th July: Elms crush Enfield (GC)
Newport Elms had an overwhelming victory over Enfield East in the EACF handicap league.

8th July: Bury beat Newport (GC)
Newport lost a close match with Bury St Edmunds in the EACF Level-Play League.

30th June: Club Barbecue announced
The annual barbecue will take place on Sunday 10th August, with informal play from 2pm and food from about 4. Families welcome!

19th June: Newport beat Bury St Edmunds (AC)
The latest Essex-Suffolk league fixture resulted in another victory for Newport, by the score of 5-2.

17th June: Elms felled by Letchworth (GC)
The Elms team lost to a strong Letchworth Reds team in the EACF handicap league.

3rd June: Hunstanton beat Newport (GC)
Newport lost a close-fought level-play match against Hunstanton by a score of 12-6.

18th May: David Maugham won the Newport Open Weekend (AC)
David Maugham won the Newport Open title for the first time, defeating Jack Wicks in the final.

9th May: Newport lost to Newport (GC)
A disappointing start to the season for Newport Oaks was matched by a correspondingly happy one for Newport Elms as the Elms beat the Oaks 10-8.

3rd May: Newport beat Colchester North (AC)
Newport began their Essex-Suffolk league season with a narrow victory over one of the Colchester teams.

18th March: Opening Date Announced
Newport's 2014 season will start on 5th April. Click on the diary

2nd January: Association Croquet Tournaments 2014
The big news this year is that we are reinstating our handicap tournament to the calendar. Our three tournaments will be the Open Weekend (17-18 May), the B-level Weekend (21-22 June), and the Handicap Weekend (19-20 July).
